Last week, I was on vacation at Big Bend. This week, I’ve been digging out of a hole. But I thought I’d share the only poem I found there.
Watching the Shadow Rise
NOTE from Marcus: I’m pulling this poem in order to submit it to LiturgicalCredo.

Don't you know the first rule when you find yourself in a hole? Stop digging!
What a find. Who knew there were poems at Big Bend… (or should I say, poem : )
There are LOTS of poems at Big Bend. But I only found these few, unpolished pieces.
Ha! Robert, I had to come back to the post to figure out what you meant. I stop digging from time to time, but someone up there keeps flinging dirt on my head.
well, you might be diggin out of a hole, but, i diggin the poem that you found at the big huge bend.
Thanks, nAncY. We were all very sad to lose theblogofnancy!
Excellent. I wish I could post a Big Bend poem:)
nter text right here! Although it was the only poem you found at Big Bend it was certainly a treasure! I liked the fragmented pieces of it – they sparkled in the glow of residual light. I've always wanted to go to Big Bend but never had the opportunity – so sad because we live so close!
That was brill.
Awesome poem, Marcus. Thanks for sharing. Great imagery, and I love the setup for the opening words in line six. I found myself reading lines 4-6 over and over again for the pure pleasure of the lines.
I'm with Ray. Marvelous imagery, Marcus.
