Join the High Calling Blog Tour Next Week!

After a year of hard work, we are finally launching our new and improved TheHighCalling.org. I’ve put together a little social media press release as best I can to help everyone out. Find out more about it at my new page: High Calling Blog Tour.

Obviously, anyone and everyone is invited to participate. You don’t get anything except a whole lot of related link love, and a chance to create some community over the next few days.

Although I have to say that the audio embed is pretty darn cool.

Let me know if you are interested.

Yes, I am interested in getting some pretty darn cool audio… a little to the south of my nose and between my ears. Thanks.

I’m going to challenge you, L.L. Embed that audio in your blog. I need a friend to try it out to see if it gives them trouble. And you, lovely lady, I consider a good friend.

All righty. And I know where you are if it hijacks my blog. :)

It can be tricky. You have to drop the code into the html as the very last thing you do before you save the post and publish it. Then it works great.

If you edit the page again, you might have to load the code again. A lot of blogging platforms are persnickety about code that way.

I’d love to try,but then I wouldn’t be able to load up my own page -old system :(

Marcus, tell me more about that. I just tried putting a post together, and the code is showing up in the preview under each listening option. Also, tell me what the catch is about putting it in last thing. If I understand the dynamics, this will help.

How to insert audio

Ok, L.L., I’ll do my best to write a step-by-step guide for embedding our audio player in blogger.

1) Write your post as you normally would.

2) Switch to “Edit Html” (if you already compose in this view, you may not need to switch).

3) Open a new browser or tab, and go to EmbedHighCallingAudio.txt.

4) Copy the code (from <object> to </object>) for the audio message you want to embed.

5) Return to your blog admin screens. Then paste the code into your blog using the “Edit Html” view. (Do not switch to the “Compose” view or your blog platform will change the code.)

6) Click publish and view the page to make sure it works.
