FALSE!
October 10th, 2007 — writing
Priming the pump just doesn’t work well in the way that many blog tours are going about it. It may even damage the credibility of the participants by making it easier to see how everybody is saying the same thing.
We don’t want to look like a collection of zombie bloggers, right? Nobody likes zombies.
The possible exception may be the Christian Science Fiction and Fantasy Blog Tour. They like zombies, but that’s not what I mean. They also seem to have created some genre buzz that has legs. Although they promote a specific book or website each month, the tour seems to have created a loose community of bloggers interested in the same topic, rather than the same person.

Here’s an interesting viral campaign. I know they’re just trying to promote their movie, but this little quiz gets you thinking about biblical literacy and morality in general.
Are you game?
By the way, that’s my score on the FIRST TRY. Go me. Go me.

My Lunch with D. Michael Linsday and a Review of his Book, Faith in the Halls of Power
October 1st, 2007 — christianity, faith and work
Still “reporting†from the Religion Newswriter’s Association conference. (L.L., is this another serious post?) It is certainly longer than most of what I do here, but I hope readers will stay with me to the end.
On Thursday, I was included in a lunch with D. Michael Lindsay, author of the new book Faith in the Halls of Power.
The book came out today, and I wanted to be one of the first to review it. Let me be blunt. It’s great. Let me be hyperbolic. It’s a masterpiece.
