I’m not sure how I feel about book publishers trying to use video to promote books, but this book looks pretty cool for my six-year-old daughter.
If you have time, watch to the end. I think this video teaches that good parenting is hard work, exhausting work, and especially most of all rewarding work. (Then the camera pans, in an obligatory sales shot, to the books that have helped the parents live to the fullest with their kids.)

Mr. G! I wrapped up my album this evening. Here is a temporary link to download it.

There is no objectionable language, although there are two noisy tracks which may be aesthetically offensive if you do not care for dissonance/atonality.
After the one for Dangerous Book for Boys, this video is a disappointment, but it is still better than many of the book promotion videos I have seen. Aside from the expense of creating a quality video, I think publishers using video to promote books is great. Those who can use it well will end up several steps ahead of the competition. Video grabs the attention of the viewer and quickly tells the viewer what he will get out of buying the book.
It is a little easier to show the advantages of having the book with a book like these shown in the video, but video that can show the reader why a book is important to him will sell books.
I couldn’t get the dang thing to play. Oh well. My kids are mostly grown now. We’re counting on therapy to fix whatever we broke.
@Matt, awesome! I can’t wait to listen to it. I tried downloading it on Monday, but couldn’t get it to work. I’ll try again today.
@T. Fish, I had tried to find a video for Dangerous Book for Boys, but I was searching for Daring Book for Boys. I wonder why they changed the brand? Now that I’ve got it straight, I’m curious if you meant the spy spoof video or the dad’s day off video.
@RLP, strange that it wouldn’t play. All of this tech stuff is ultimately a mystery to me.
